Barnfield Sandbeds

Barnfield Sandbeds is a beautiful wooded green space on the edge of Brewood. The main entrance is at the end of Orams Lane. The site was restored in 2010, and is now cared for by the Friends of Barnfield Sandbeds. The Friends arrange work parties for volunteers, to carry out tasks such as clearance and bulb planting. Local groups such as the Scouts and Duke of Edinburgh participants are often involved in these. The Sandbeds are enhanced by nest boxes, hedgehog hotels, a fabulous bug station by the entrance, and bat houses. The Friends also run events such as dawn chorus walks, pond dipping and nest box surveys. This is a lovely place for locals to walk.
